Now, school considers it is officially COLD. Therefore, after the usual 10minutes morning exercise (which is really a piece of cake..) we now have to ..run. Yes, just after breakfast, what a joy.
Teachers believe it will "wake up" the body, when the days are so cold. They are probably right, but I can assure you, this isn't easy...
Not only do we have it at 9am, but also at 3pm now.
All of this is done outside, on the sports field, with very loud music and the crazy Chinese man on the stage, yelling in his microphone (about how straight/not straight the lines are ..).
This man is so passionate that if no one stops him, he could go on all day long...
Today, very rare occasion, I stayed in the classroom because I was on duty (cleaning the board, picking up papers..), this is why I could take pictures from the classroom window. (The view isn't that good, but you can get an idea..)
I also had my Chinese class with Lisa, like every Tuesday morning.
She offered me a present; a luck bracelet made of 108 beads. =
In the afternoon, Lisa went to model for a photo-shoot. She
took me with her. She pointed out " you are Pig (calendar sign), and I'm a
Tiger. It is said that Pig and Piger are most likely to be best friends, and get
on brilliantly together!"
Lisa had prepared her own outfits, so they
fitted her really well! (Unlike me..)
Yes, my teacher is a beautiful
beautiful woman, and she is fully aware of that..!
After this, I went back to school, to pick up Nicky, had a hot drink in McDonalds and we took the underground together.
You see, everything was PERFECT
for me in the class room, yes, everything. Until .. They allocated me the MOST
IRRITATING SEAT in the whole classroom... Just in front of the door!!! Can you
believe that? I thought it was a joke, but no. (And in NO way am I allowed to
move my chair or table, even 10cm from the line.. Yes Chinese are a little crazy
about straight lines!)
So... My day now resembles this:
-stand up
-sit back down
-stand up
-Sit back down
~ you get it... ~
I am not a particularly patient person for this kind of thing, but I am
seriously working on that weakness !
On the 1st of December, I had a strange feeling all day. I received an "anniversary email" from my grandparents,in the morning, it made me very happy!
My sister went to have lessons, like every Saturday, while I stayed at home with my aunt and helped to wash the clothes.
I had an agreement with a girl in our school for lunch. I went to wait for her (they all have extra lessons at the same place.. Almost all the students in our school attend these classes!).
It turned out my sister, Nicky and Katie also joined us! We went to a traditional noodle shop, handmade ones, very thick. They call it "sliced spicy noodles".
It was very delicious, so tasty! With sliced beef, fresh coriander, lots of flavors I have never tasted before!
This day was the COLDEST we have ever had so far~ so so cold...
My sister went back home> homework .. So did Katie and the other girl.
Nicky looked at me, and said "Ok, let's celebrate! Your 100 days!!"
She first wanted to go to KTV but when the weather is so bad, they are overbooked!
We decided to.. Take the underground.. Simply because it is the BEST place when it's cold! Nanjing underground is very clean, warm, and has many restaurants, shops...
We bought hot oat milk in a milk tea shop, and Nicky then proposed to take me far from downtown. "You need to get a real picture of Nanjing, not just Xin Jie Kou!"
We took line 2, quite far. That place was... Isolated .. 没有人。。 nobody there! The rain was endless!
At 5pm Nicky invited me to have dinner at her home with her mother. We spent a wonderful evening and ate hotpot.
Her mother was so warm, and careful. She insisted I took an extra coat (barbie pink.. a present from her grandmother!) not to be cold, and gave Nicky a hello kitty umbrella, we both attracted a lot of attention, sensational style!
